Johnson Pump Marine Cartridge Combo bilge pump are JPM's proven Cartridge Bilge Pump combined with a non-clogging electro-magnetic float switch for automatic operation. The switch reacts to the level of water present in the bilge and automatically activates and deactivates the pump.
 
Operation: When the bilge water rises the magnet float, it floats up and the air in the float house  is forced out through the vent hole. The magnet float starts the pump  when bilge water reaches 50 mm. The valve  closes and the magnet float stays in the start position due to vacuum inside the float house.  When the bilge water has sunk to level 20 mm, air is let in through the air opening  in the float house. The magnet float falls down and cuts off the power.
 
Bilge pump cleaning and maintenance no longer call for complete disassembly. You can now
leave the pump casing attached to both the boat and the hoses. The cartridge bilge pumps can
be removed for cleaning or replacement without the use of a single tool. Lift the tab on the top,
give the cartridge a twist and pull it out; that’s all there is to it. The cartridge contains an
all-in-one motor/impeller unit with no loose parts.
